If I’d been asked several years ago to put pen to paper and jot down my thoughts and opinions on my wanderings around this planet, including the many meals I’d sampled along the way, not forgetting the many beds – some more comfortable than others – I’d rested my weary body in, I’d have laughed at the thought that there could be anyone out there who would have the slightest interest in what I thought.
My editors over the years, however, thought differently, as did apparently a number of readers, who could devour, pardon the pun, my food reviews in particular, almost faster than I could write the weekly column.
I probably have to apologise to my poor family, for they’ve been dragged along to all manner of events, festivals, foodie offerings, and even an odd travel review (I know, I hear you groaning about the difficulty such dedication to my work causes), But regardless, they’ve put on a brave face and rose to met the challenge.
I’m based in central Scotland, and a passionate believer in good Scottish produce, in fact, I would go so far as to stick my neck out and say we have some of the finest meat and seafood available anywhere.
So, dear friends, shall we tread the well-worn path together? I hope so.
Thanks for joining me!
